Canine Rehabilitation

Human and veterinary medicine share more similarities than we may realize. Canine Rehabilitation adapts human physical therapy techniques to increase the function and mobility of joints and muscles in dogs. We are proud to employ Patricia Kelb, our Certified Veterinary Technician and the only Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner in central Wisconsin.

The potential of rehabilitation to improve the lives of dogs is endless. Some of the benefits include:

  • Improved quality of life
  • Increased life expectancy
  • Quicker rate of recovery from injury or surgery
  • Weight loss assistance
  • Pain relief resulting in the reduction or elimination of prescription pain medications
  • Performance enhancement of athletic and working dogs

The goal of rehabilitation, either human or canine, is to regain functional ability, optimize the movement of all body parts, and ultimately improve quality of life. Therapy is tailored to each individual patient and may use a combination of techniques to achieve optimum results. Some of these techniques include:

  • Simple massage
  • Stretching techniques
  • Exercise ball therapy
  • Cold therapy laser
  • Essential oils
  • Use of canine conditioning equipment
